Tuscan red wines are the soul of our territory: structured, deep, capable of accompanying the most important dishes and aging with elegance. In Foresteria Villa Cerna’s selection you will find the great appellations of Tuscany, the result of the work of our estates and longtime partners.
From Villa Cerna’s Chianti Classico DOCG to Brunello di Montalcino, from Maremma’s Morellino di Scansano to Sagrantino di Montefalco, each label expresses a different terroir and careful winemaking. A proposal that satisfies expert and curious palates, designed to accompany everyday dining and occasions that merit an important bottle.
Chianti Classico is the historic appellation of our territory, obtained exclusively in the area between Florence and Siena. In the selection you find two representative interpretations: Primocolle, a modern expression of Sangiovese with full fruit and well-integrated tannins, and Ribaldoni, more traditional, with spicy notes and a good tannic structure. Both are perfect wines for the everyday table and excellent companions to red meats, pasta with meat sauce and aged pecorino.
Villa Cerna’s Riserva 2020 represents the high end of the appellation, with prolonged aging in wood that gives depth, aromatic complexity and the capacity to age 10-15 years. Higher still, Villa Rosa’s 2019 Gran Selezione is the highest category of Chianti Classico, reserved for wines made from single vineyard grapes, with even more stringent quality criteria. These are labels designed for big dates, for the collector’s cellar or for a gift that leaves a mark.
Brunello di Montalcino is one of the greatest Italian wines, made from Sangiovese Grosso in the territories south of Siena. In our selection you will find labels from the Cecchi group, in which long maturation in wood and bottle aging express all the power and elegance of this great red. Pair with important dishes such as Florentine steak, braised meats, game and long aged cheeses.
Morellino di Scansano is made in the Tuscan Maremma, at the Val delle Rose Estate, from Sangiovese grapes grown in vineyards near the sea. It is a more immediate and fruity red than Chianti, with soft tannins and a pleasantness that makes it perfect for Mediterranean cuisine, pastas with meat sauces, grilled meats and semi-seasoned cheeses. A versatile and approachable choice, suitable for both the everyday table and a structured aperitif.
Sagrantino di Montefalco, produced by Tenuta Alzatura in Umbria, is one of Italy’s most powerful and tannic reds. In Foresteria’s selection you’ll find labels designed for those seeking an intense wine experience to pair with roasts, game, braised meats and robust cuisine. It is a wine that ages well and rewards those who know how to wait for the right moment to uncork it.
Labels such as Cecchi Group’s Coevo and Calipte, blends and special selections that combine Sangiovese with international varietals, complete the selection. These are wines designed for those who want to explore Tuscan winemaking outside the best-known appellations, discovering contemporary interpretations and evolving styles.
